Cool choice. I shall watch this for tips, as I've got the Novo boxing of that, and I will get round to it one day. It was the start of my Northrop obsession.

Well done that man!

It's good to see another fool modelling enthusiast having a go at a retro model!

The expression "making a silk purse from a sow's ear" seems unnecessarily cruel to

FROG, but I'm sure you know what I mean. I think I might manage a pigskin purse!!!

Hi Guys:

I was wondering what happened with this one.

My interest sparks as I had the good fortune of getting two of them at Ebay together with an Airfix one. They come in plastic bags, without box, decals and bases but otherwise think both of them are complete and at really bargain price.

I had compared the Frog with the Airfix kit and found nearly on a par with only a little difference with the engine cowlings front curvature, but the Squadron In Action made me think Frog was a little thin and pointed cowling. I am thinking in clone some Airfix parts to enhance the Frog kit, or maybe look around for a DML/Dragon one to check for better parts to enhance the others.

I was thinking in begin one and anyone who have info or have the opportunity to do/share a review about this old, maybe outdated but always magnificent/nice kit is welcome.

Cheers,

Luis Alfonso

Hi Chris:

I had seen this is the one you bought in Alberta Museum Gift Shop, BTW the parts spread will help me to check mine´s completeness status, I will be posting advances about the prepararions and improvement parts I would need to make this one at least a good model. Thank you very much for your kind answer.

BTW, are you planning to build this one??? I advice you to check Ebay USA and buy another one, sometimes anyone is selling this one with AMT/FROG packing .

Cheers,

Luis Alfonso

Hi Chris:

Thank you very much for the other image to add also to my treasure!!! I'm not having the good look in having this with box and all the things as new but am grateful to at least have the kit :D

I was looking around yesterday and found this:

Really this people is making and inmense task to practically make this plane as new!!!

Also look at these ones:

In the above site there are some interesting pics to any P61 builder and Black Widow fans, and specially for us there are some three dealing with the engine cowlings front part, I found this part is like the Airfix kit and with a inside wall that could made me thinking how could approach this part..... Obviously, I'm not trying to make a super model but only as the Master Terry marriot sez one time in Scale Aircraft Modelling magazine: "Correct the obvious and camouflage the rest".....maybe later I'll buy the Dragon one to see what kind of beast this one is but with a lot of desire to build the old AMT/FROG first.

Cheers,

Luis Alfonso

Hi Guys and gals:

As part of another deal of Four planes, I found in Ebay a friend who was selling TWO P61 kits, the box and plans in the pic were from the MPC Profile Series, there were also a plastic bag with a bunch of pieces and the descriptio said "Two for One", ok I bought the pair for a good price ($9.99 + Shipping), and looking a little finely for details in the picture in one corner there was a little plan image, Ok, one of them was the Old MPC/Airfix rendition and guess what??..I watched carefully and the little plan segment made me think "It seems the AMT/Frog........and well...the other??....YES, there is an Old precious FROG Model.

I think if there were the seller advertised the Frog parts displayed and plan, maybe he had atracted many more buyers for bid and more money for them.

I think its time to begin with at least one of them, Soon will post pics of them.

Cheers,
