Edgar Posted September 20, 2007 Share Posted September 20, 2007 Thanks, John, it's interesting to see how, in the first picture, it matches LA255, 1 Squadron's 21, with the small "fill-in," on the fin, which, on removal, allowed the broad-chord rudder, plus a deeper horn, to be fitted if contra-props were used. Haven't been able to find out, yet, if it was a production item, or added after 21s were returned to standard engine/prop combinations. I can't find any indication that LA198 ever had contra-props, so it looks as though John Adams' theory (that the "fill-in" was always there, from construction) could be correct.
