Seahawk Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 According to Hannants, the old Tamiya 1/35 Panzer II Ausf F (with infantry figures!) is £8.25. The new Panzer II Ausf A/B/C (no figures) is something like £30.75. Now I know it's a different variant, suitable for France vice the Western Desert. However I don't remember the old Ausf F getting bad reviews when it came out in the mists of antiquity. In which case what's so much better about the new Ausf A/B/C that makes it worth paying nearly 4 times as much for it? Is there any more to it than a "new" sticker? Are modellers no better than the teenie girls on "The Simpsons", running after the latest Malibu Stacey release? Honest question: happy to be given all manner of objective facts proving conclusively that the Ausf F is completely unworthy of consideration by the serious modeller. Nick
Guest snipersmudge Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 The new tamiya panzer II is light years ahead of the OLD tamiya F, dragon do a much better version. I have just built the ausf a/b/c see here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39722 and can thoroughly recommend it. At the end of the day it's all about what you are happy paying for a kit and how much enjoyment you get out of it. Pete
