According to Hannants, the old Tamiya 1/35 Panzer II Ausf F (with infantry figures!) is £8.25. The new Panzer II Ausf A/B/C (no figures) is something like £30.75. Now I know it's a different variant, suitable for France vice the Western Desert. However I don't remember the old Ausf F getting bad reviews when it came out in the mists of antiquity. In which case what's so much better about the new Ausf A/B/C that makes it worth paying nearly 4 times as much for it? Is there any more to it than a "new" sticker? Are modellers no better than the teenie girls on "The Simpsons", running after the latest Malibu Stacey release?

Honest question: happy to be given all manner of objective facts proving conclusively that the Ausf F is completely unworthy of consideration by the serious modeller.

The new tamiya panzer II is light years ahead of the OLD tamiya F, dragon do a much better version. I have just built the ausf a/b/c see here

and can thoroughly recommend it. At the end of the day it's all about what you are happy paying for a kit and how much enjoyment you get out of it.
