djktrumpet
So, managed to do a bit on the Harrier today: Building on the dining-room table with a bit of hardboard for cutting and dripping paint on. No flesh colour so the pilot's going to be a bit grey-faced. Also abandoned the somewhat fiddly mechanism to get the jet nozzles turning together - they're going to get glued in place! Seem to remember doing the same thing 30-odd years ago when I last built an Airfix Harrier... :-) More tomorrow!
djktrumpet
After the first coat of paint - yuk! Looking a bit better after the 2nd coat: Should be able to move on to the camo tomorrow...

Mike
That paint looks a bit grim first coat, doesn't it? Not looking forward to painting mine red
djktrumpet
That paint looks a bit grim first coat, doesn't it? Not looking forward to painting mine red Certainly does! Looks a bit better after another coat or two, but I'll be happy to go back to spraying enamels! ;-)
djktrumpet
Getting there! Haven't had much time to progress this over the last couple of days, but have somehow found time to blitz the camouflage and get the decals on: Oh, for some setting solution! Just need to get the undercarriage and stores on - should finish tomorrow. Decorating permitting

djktrumpet
Well, I think I'm going to call it finished! OK as long as you don't look too closely! I'll try and do some better photos of the finished beastie at some point. :-)
