yeehah1
14-09-07 Can you post a pic of the underneath of the MesserSpit conversion you have? I need to see what is under there as there isn't much info. ( even a drawing from the instructions would help) Thanks in advance Liam
Mike
Yeah, course I can... when you say "underside", do you just mean the front cowling, or are you looking for the colors etc.?
yeehah1
15-09-07 Dear Mike. Yeah, either I suppose, but I really need to see the underneath of the front cowling. I know it didn't have an airscoop under there, but I need to see how they treated it. Also, The 1/32 Hase Spitfire seems to be lacking in detail for it's under-wing scoops. Where might I get info on how to detail these areas? There seems to be a flap opened there ( when on the ground) so I was thinking of cutting it out and detailing it a little. Thanks again Liam

Mike
Hi Liam, Been cleaning up the rest of the workshop & milling around in the garden today, but as part of the tidying I boxed up all the parts of my Messyspit... I'll shove it on the bench when I've shut the PC down, to remind me to take some pics tomorrow. Got some guests arriving as we speak, so I can't do it now unfortunately, it'd be rude to stay locked away any longer
Mike
Better late than never Finally got the camera out... According to the plans, I just build backward of the nose as normal... there's the usual Me. flugelhorn sticking out of the side under the cockpit, but that's about the size of it. Shouldn't be too hard to model, eh?
yeehah1
Better late than never Finally got the camera out... Shouldn't be too hard to model, eh? Oh dear...not what I expected at all. I was planning on using the underneath of the Me109 nose, (and filling hte recess meant for the airscoop) but that looks nothing like it. Any chance you could shoot a few from a different angle? Is it flat or round? Or maybe they used the bottom part of the Bf110 cowling as well? Gwad! Liam
Mike
Poo! Camera's away. It's a smooth rounded curve, that butts very nicely against the original spit wings... I'm guessing that all the hosing was connected up to the original Supermarine rads & oil coolers etc. I'll post some more pics later if you still need them.
