mikeew
Not really a car builder, but am attempting to make the window frames and the wheels and bumpers look like chrome by using Alclad Chrome. I have undercoated with Revell Gloss Black enamel, then misted light coats of Chrome Alclad for a truly spectacular finish, I'm well happy! Its not that apparent in the photo, but you can see the reflection of the flash in the wheels on the cutting mat! I'll be using this technique again! Grant
I must admit, ALCLAD chrome looks pretty AND chrome - not bad for a paint. The flash reflecting proves the point! What's the motor? cheers Grant
tedtaylor
An excellent paint is that alcladII and gloss black underneath really works. Ted

palacefan
When you say misted, did you lower the air pressure or have it high?
mikeew
When you say misted, did you lower the air pressure or have it high? I had the air pressure set at 15psi, then put on three light coats. It dries almost instantly like that and you can build up the effect.
prophead2
It looks really good but don't handle it as it will smear(according to Alclad). If you seal it you lose the chrome effect. Alclad don't know the answer yet and are still experimenting to find a chrome finish that stays after clear cote or that wont smear. Only the high gloss finishes have this problem because of the carrying agent used. Let us know if you find out differently as I'm not speaking from experience only what I was told by the agent.
