Erwin
I guess most of us are so focused on Spitfires and Hurricanes when it come down to BoB as those are the only ones seens in movies. Mainly because they are the only types still flying to be used in movies. We have been brain-washed all these years !!
AnonymousFO98
Thanks Erwin was googling between housework and found nought Thought i had seen something but the Buffalo was a bit of a surprise i think you have it dontcha love it when a documentary about the BoB shows cannon firing on a Hurri IIC

AnonymousDFB1
Well with nobody other than Walrus coming forward to host this GB I will give him a hand. Of course I will happily stand aside if someone new wants to have a shot at the job.
AnonymousFO98
Many Thanks Mish- much appreciated have set up a poll to decide what to include (or not) please vote here
AnonymousDFB1
Thanks for that, lets get voting
Doug Rogers
I've voted for All BoB Participants. Shirley the strength of these GB's, is the diversity they can generate within the specified topic. Limiting it in either direction would stifle the range of entries, IMHO. Bit like having a Gulf War Armour GB, and saying no Abrams or Challengers. Having said all that, happy to go with the flow, got a Roden Gladiator to do as well. Erwin
Wasn't the Whirlwind operational right at the end of BoB ?
Jazzy Jase
As far as I'm concerned, anything that helped the war effort on either side for and during the BoB is fine with me. Personally I'll be starting with a Tamiya Spitfire as i'm now concentrating on 1/48 and I haven't built a 1/48 Spitfire yet. And if I can get one I'll be doing a 1/48 Hasegawa Hurricane after that! AnonymousDFB1
Wasn't the Whirlwind operational right at the end of BoB ? The Whirlwind did come into serve towards the end of the Bob, but it all depends on what cut off date you use. I did find some data the otherday, which if I can find it this evening I'll post it here.

Erwin
Maybe best to set up a list of aircraft we can build so we can plan our entries/buys. BTW,are BoB movie -based subject allowed again like I did when I hosted the BoB GB in 2008 ? http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showforum=182 Edited February 5, 2010 by Erwin

AnonymousFO98
The Whirlwind is on the borderline 236 Sqn received insufficient numbers and only became operational in December 1940 However 136 Sqn became operational with Whirlwinds in September, so may well just squeeze in to the frame. Erwin
In that case I better build this... I already decided on a RAF subject for the GB. But I would like to see a list of possible Luftwaffe subjects . There's a big convention next month.I need to make my shopping-list.
AnonymousDFB1
This is not official yet as Walrus and myself haven't agreed on dates, types, units etc but I propose we take the info for the GB from the RAF's official BoB site which is HERE

hazza
Hi Hazzawill have to be a Spit mate not considered the GB regs yet but am assuming BoB participants only are going to be eligible i have only just realised how stupid i have been, just looked at the box and BOB what an idiot

AnonymousDFB1
I think Walrus and I should also consider types from Reggia Aeronautica (Italian Air Force) as well.
AnonymousFO98
Would agree with that Mish. unless something drastically unexpected happens the poll is suggesting that all types and units be included. t would be good imho to see some recognition for those aspects of the battle that are usually overlooked.
