ok, i really need your help guys

i cannot find the decals i want to make the over belize bucc, now i could cut up loads of differnt sheets, but they are all slightly different colours, so im going to try and print some (yes i know im mad!), but does anyone know what 'font' was used for the seriels i.e. xz534 on navy buccs, and what font was used for the large pale blue individual numbers on the nose, i.e. 030

seconly any tips of how to print them, ive ordered some, clear decal film and microscale liquid decal film (i tried ones to print some a while back with mixed results)

Until computers came along, 'fonts' were little blocks of metal used by printers. The rest of us (I used to be a sign writer) worked from books of letter styles which we copied, or learnt certain styles by heart... usually with our own twist.

In cases like this, chances are somebody made a manual which gave exact dimensions of each letter. So unless somebody has got hold of this manual and made it into a font, then it's unlikely you will find a ready made font. You may need to draw these letters up by hand and scan them, or draw them on a computer.

It's not so hard, most fonts follow basic conventions, so on a computer you can draw up a full set of letters in a few hours. Otherwise, the only other option would be to find something close.

There's also the Model Airplane International site which has Richard J Caruana artwork which can be downloaded for free. Is is also available on Mr Caruana's own site. The markings are for S1s, but may also be useful for early S2s.
