phat trev
Having got myself the new Airfix Mk.IX and PR Mk.XIX I have joined the masses here and started to build... I am going for an open cockpit (the door staying closed!) so I have started to improve the cockpit -ok not 100% correct but at this small scale I hope it will look ok- Just need to make some oxygen bottles to fit behind the seat and build a floor. The colour I am using for the interior is Xtracrylix RAF Grey/Green and the extra details have been made from small off-cuts of sprue and plastic card I found in my 'box of tricks' Edited January 10, 2010 by phat trev
Daniel
Looking good, that is an impresive ampunt of detail you have added for the scale. Dan
phat trev
A bit of shadow and detailing... With the PRXI (not as detailed as this has no moulded detail such as throttle etc..)
~Dan~
Very nice work. Are you going to highlight with some dry brushing? It would be a shame to lose the detail because it's too dark in there.

Thanks, Yes it does look very dark! maybe darker so on the photos but how would I lighten the place up without wrecking the joint!. I am also coming round to thinking the PRXI should have it's cockpit on show so will have to make some tiny winy parts!
Howard of Effingham
one to watch! i am trying to create a PR. XI from an airfix PR.XIX and a MkIXc. its a tricky job even if you have an airfix magazine guide to help you.
TonyT
Trev the 14 does not have any bottles behind the seat they are all down the tail, also you will need to fill in the camera door, but I guess you know that
Howard of Effingham
aw! damn! its my interpretation of a PRXII w'out being ultra fussy, never mind!
TonyT
Yeah a lot of junk was shuffled off down the back end Howard to help balance the weight of the bigger engine..... you want to see the lead weights in the fin and rear fuselage on the 19.
