Miggers
Wow!!. That looks superb too. I bet the nose cost more than the kit. Mark
Iain Ogilvie
Conversion had been sitting in the stash for a few years - so I'd written off the cost... Biggest item was the decals - was going to make my own on the ALPS - but main PC with my graphics software has been down this autumn (back working now) - so shelled out for a superb aftermarket set by Sky decals. Still a relatively cheap project by 1:32 standards - something different and great fun! Iain
spitfire
A great conversion, and well finished, sounds like a good idea, I too had (still have more) lots of converions in the loft that I should really be using, and lots of 21st Century kits up there as well. Sounds like a marriage made in heaven. Cheers Den

Iain Ogilvie
Thanks guys - I really enjoyed this one... Such a transformation for not a lot of work. The 21st Century Toys concept I really like - have even built a Zero with my 2 1/2 year old son - he loved it. Oh - and my friends two children were over in early December and to keep them occupied we got them building a pair of Stukas - they loved it (even their mum got involved!) - and I've just been sent a piccie of them finished (they built here and took them home to paint). For Children they're brilliant - I really hope the idea gets resurrected at some point. I have been gathering info for early Stuka's to build a Ju-87A from the 21st Century kit - but Trumpy have just announced - so will hold fire on that one for time being! davidelvy
A very nice model of a truly awful aeroplane.
Iain Ogilvie
Indeed - I believe it had good reason to be called the Mule - especially on take-off... Have wanted to do one for ages - makes for quite a charismatic model. Iain

Iain Ogilvie
Cheers Bill - in the process of writing this one up for one of the mags at present. Iain
Iain Ogilvie
OK - finally got a clear run today and finished the blighter (I lost faith because of debate on the parallel 109G-14 build over colours). Today I have mostly been making mass balances, pitot tubes and finishing off... Hopefully not to late for article which I'm finishing now... Just need some daylight to get final images (this one taken under indoor light - very poor). Iain Edited February 28, 2010 by 32SIG
Jon Kunac-Tabinor
Hi Iain - that looks great. I'm a fan of the 199 - it just has that kind of purposeful look to it ( even though it was meant to be a bit of a dog to fly). I bet the irony of what they were flying wasn't lost on the early Israeli pilots too! Nice build and finish, that scheme always looks good to my eyes.
