Antoine Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Well, no need to quote all the post, pics included to say "nice work"! Beautiful work, the aluminium coat in itself deserved a price. I'll dig ASAP in your SBS.
Maxidad Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 That's really something. I had a look at the build thread on ARC - nice work on the seat and cockpit. The alu/dope (whatever it is) finish is beautiful - what did you use?
Bobs_Buckles Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Nick, That is one fine looking Ni17. I'm guessing you used alclad II for the silver dope? Thanks for sharing. BVB
NickT Posted December 16, 2009 Author Posted December 16, 2009 Thanks for all the kind comments. The silver dope was indeed Alclad. The fabric areas were painted with white aluminium, decalled and then sprayed with satin varnish. The metal areas around the cowling/engine were painted just in duralinium with no varnish or anything, to keep the metal effect. Thanks to Bob as well, I used his rigging buckles and it made the job of rigging a lot easier. Nick
Martian Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Gorgeous effort, lovely clean build. Martin
