airbus320
Thanks for all the kind comments folks, in answer to the various questions PK312 is indeed the prototype F.22 and was still fitted with the XXI tail. This explains the clean finish! I had a mangled Aeroclub XXI rear fuselage left over after I had an, um, 'dodgy' deal off an ebay seller so I grafted it onto the Airfix kit as I like the looks of the early 22s. The sky coloured patch I have no clue about, the only guess I can think of is that it is a fabric cover for a flare chute or something similar? Any ideas anyone? It shows up quite well on the colour picture I have of this a/c. Chris

The wooksta V2.0
Lovely. I have a stalled build of PK312 in 72nd (Aeroclub XVIII fuselage with Aeroteam F21 wing) so I noticed the small tail straight off! Quite a few of the early 22s had the smaller tail. Not sure how many though but all were rebuilt with the Spiteful fin & tailplanes before issue.
Dave Gibson
You can never have too many Spitfires and that's a particularly nice build of one. Dave
