Mike
I decaled my MB-5 last night, and left them to set up with a coat of Mr Mark Softer, which wrinkles up the decals as per a number of other decal solutions. When I came back to it this morning however, the decals were still wrinkled, although set tight to the wings etc. What should I do? I've had this problem before with Tamiya decals, but I can't remember what I did with them. Any advice before I sand them off & start again? T-Tango
Sounds a bit of a problem Mike, have you tried going over them with the softener again?

StanG
I have the same problem, I put decals over curved surface and it ended up wrinkled. I don't normally have problems with it when placing decals on the 'normal' surface (not too bumpy I mean). I tend to use Micro Set and Micro Sol. I found that the Micro Sol needs to be used very carefully otherwise it will wrinkle. I think I will sand them down (the wrinkles, gently), try to find the same colour and touch it up, or weather it so it looks like the paint is peeling... I will have to try whatever to disguise it. I will be posting the wrinkle-mess in the WIP as soon as I get my camera, might be worth watching that thread as well for any tips that somebody might come up with. Hey! At least you know you're not on your own It always makes one feel better when you find out they have the same problem! Stan
Mike
I decided on action... I wet sanded the decals smooth with a fine grade Squadron sanding stick, and I'm just about to overlay some new decals on top
kitnut617
I've been told that vinegar will remove decals as long as they haven't been sealed in. I don't know what vinegar will do to whatever clear you've used though.
Mike
I thought it best not to find out. Decals are redone now

StanG
Micro Set is also a decal remover, and guess what! It smells like vinegar!
Julien
I have never used the mr mark product. I normally use set / sol or klear. With Sol if the decal is still wrinkled I apply more, and then using a finger or a cotton bud dipped in sol, VERY carefully straighten it out. You have to be really careful doing this! To remove decals, put tamyia tape / or other over the top, pull off and decal comes off. Mircro set can also be used to take off decals. As long as the klear has set (which it should have done before decalling!) more set will not affect the klear. I have found that tape even removes delcas which have been kleared over. Fatboydim
I use kitchen roll dipped in very hot water, then press on the decal like with a steam iron.
