Redboost
Hi all, recently I bought the Hobbyboss kit, unfortunately shape of the nose make the kit almost useless. So I tried to save it taking the complete nose from good old Heller kit as well as landing gear, propeller, exhausts etc. The decal come from Skymodel sheet, it is one of the four Hurricanes that Lady Mac Roberts bought for the RAF. Mal
Excellent. There seems to be a lot of Hurricanes being posted lately, that's certainly all for the better especially when there of this standard. Malcolm
AnonymousFO98
beautifully done- but then we expect no less from you Libor! unfortunately shape of the nose make the kit almost useless in the light of recent threads about the merits of various hurri kits was wondering about Hobbyboss's effort. it seems that the canon access panels are in the wrong place too as they extend over the flaps? Also a reminder that the Smer/Heller kit still looks good and you have married the nose superbly nice kit bash!
stevehnz
Libor, that looks fabulous, if you hadn't said 1/72, I would have guessed 1/48 if not 1/32. That is seriously impressive. I also really like your choice of colour scheme, I'm beginning to think a collection of Desert Airforce would look way smart. Hope you don't mind a gentle thread hijack if I ask what you used for the Azure undersides, it looks remarkably like the old Humbrol Authentic HB13 shade I have on a few of my old models & nothing at all like the later Hu157. (I can really only get Humbrol easily, also some Tamiya) It looks very "right" to me. Steve
Dad 10
Beautiful Finish, as has been said looks like at least 1/48. I shall be striving for this standard with my current Tempest F6 conversion of the Academy kit. Richard McClelland
~Dan~
It looks good from where I'm standing. Amazing to think this started out as a HobbyBoss kit. I'm beginning to think a collection of Desert Airforce would look way smart. Hey! Thats my idea!

Max Headroom
Excellent build Libor. I can't see the join - whereabouts did you perform the surgery? MH p.s. my Hobbyboss Hurri was binned because the underside fillet join wouldn't meet the fuselage at all - even with superglue.
Redboost
Hi Max, sorry to hear about your troubles, mine fitted pretty well. I cut off the nose along the line just in front of the windshield where the cross sections of both fuselages matched with almost no tolerance. The lower ugly joint is hidden under the tropical filter - that is the reason I went for desert machine

stevehnz
Thanks gents! stevehnz: the Azure Blue is Gunze Mr.Color 370 from the RAF set. Thanks Libor, not sure if its available out here, I'll have to cast around a bit. Steve
Julien
Looks good. The wing roundels look a little oversized as they should not extend back onto the control surfaces. Julien
ta152h
Nice work- how much of the Heller nose did you graft on? Is the surgery from the panel line in front of the cockpit. The cannon barrels look a bit strange, but overall it's good to see a modeller doing some conversion work. I wonder what the new Airfix 11C is going to be like, apparently it has parts for a Sea Hurricane 11C. Since it's hard to find the Revell example, I will probably buy a couple, even though I build WW1 stuff. Good model, well executed.
