Advice needed - Calling all tornado F3 experts

Hi all,

I am after a little bit of advice for the above old kit. I have seen one review online that someone has done in the past. Although it was said it is not the best kit in the I really would like to make a really good kit out of this. I would like to make this kit complete with flaps/slats extended, 11sqn to go along with my Lightning I recently completed.

SO

My question to the experts would be can I possibly use either of these two sets (the Paragon or Flightpath GR4 sets) Paragon or paragon on the F3 model? I am unsure if the GR4 and F2/3 Shared the same wing design - Could someone possibly clarify if these could be used or not?

Has any one had any experience of the Avionix Cockpit set for the F2/3 Avionix? is it worth the money?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing before I order any parts!

Regards

James

Hello -

I can only answer for the Flightpath side of things. Our current GR1/4 sets will NOT fit the early issue Revell kits such as their original GR1/IDS kit or the so-called F2 kit. Neither will our wing flaps set. Having said that, you might be better off trying to cross-kit the more recent Revell GR1 kit with an early issue F2 kit because either way you will still have to lengthen the fuselage aft of the cockpit and fwd. of the jet pipes + mod. the rudder and large parts of the underside of the fuselage - also mod. the leading edge wing root extensions - the list goes on!

With Regards,

David Parkins,

Flightpath,

You'd be far better off making your own from the new tool GR.1 kit.

It will require a lot of "fixing" though. The page Windy linked also has a build in which the builder cast his own inserts for the F.2/3 LINKY

I think he flogged off the last of these last year but he may still have some dimensions if you contact him? (I don't think the nose he made is quite right though, it seems to point up slightly).

Then the Avionix F.3 cockpit will also fit as it is made for the new kit which Revell never released! : :mental:
