T-Tango
Chrimbo Pressie arrived today, a Verlinden 120mm Black Prince, obviously I won't be able to start it yet but I'm really looking foreward to Christmas Day.
T-Tango
I've made a start on Edward 'The Black Prince' First off a picture from the Verlinden site of what he should look like, I hope they don't mind me using it, it is purely for reference. Having never done a resin kit before I was pleasantly surprised, on opening the box everything was neatly bagged up, however no instructions were supplied, but it's very straight foreward so no problems there, the detail on the casting is superb, the chainmail is crisp, the belts, buckles and armour are well defined and the base supplied is excellent. Having cut the main components from the casting blocks very little sanding is required, just two items needed sanding to remove the last of the casting block, his helmet/head and the shield, cleaning up the parts is virtually non existant, just a slight roughness around the edge of the base. I would thoroughly recommend this kit to anyone and at £28 it seems very good value. Anyway enough waffle, progress so far, sorry about the poor quality pictures. 1964rac
No, I never did finish him, he's sitting in his box on the shelf. What happen, did you have modellers block or did another model take over? Richard Edited June 29, 2011 by 1964rac
T-Tango
What happen, did you have modellers block or did another model take over?Richard It was a bit of losing my mojo on figures, plus getting in to WWI bipes in the Great War GB and finding that they were what I really enjoyed building. Bertie McBoatface
He's very well animated - I'd hate to be in front of that axe! I look forward to seeing the painting.
