Stuka 1:32 (Revell)

Recommended Posts

Cheers guys - good to know I'm on the right track!

So far this has taken about 6hrs to do from opening the box...but I think the real challenge is tomorrow, when I get the tamiya weathering pastels out for the soot and the individual panels, and do some more chipping & dry brushing.

Oh and I've given up on masking the glass myself - total nightmare - i've wimped out and bought a mask instead.

What did you use for the weathering ?

Getting the pastel shades on will really bring it to life, so that should be fun !!!

Liking this. Built the 1/24 Stuka when I was a kid, love it for it's ugliness and lots of detail. Unfortunately, that one tried to fly off the stool with the help of a mate. Needless to say it caused an argument !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More work in progress...still got a bit to do I recon. In particular the exhaust soot needs to be better, and I need to increase the chipping around access panels, common areas. It's getting there...slowly.

Part of the walkway decals been sucked off by the decal bogey man...

But the biggest travesty has to be the prop. Good lord, it's ugly! It looks like it's been lifted off a completely different aircraft with this scheme. I'm toying with repainting the cone the match the rest of plane!

Name me one bit of a Stuka that isnt ugly. Looking great though, i cant wait to see it finished.

Pity about that decal... is there anything you can do?

Yeah - it should be a relatively simple paint-in job - not perfect by any stretch, but a definite fix that won't be noticed by Joe Public from 3-4 feet I recon.

True enough Erwin...like the one at Hendon:

Not nit picking by any means, Silverburn - just thought you might like to know sooner rather than later. At least you can make an informed decision as to whether to change it or not.

Cheers,

Dean

No probs - I can dump the yellow tips easily enough - the snag I see is that the desert cammo at the beginning of the thread doesn't seem to show the props - would these still be grey/green? Would seem a strange combination if they were...

While I'm on, I may as well add the latest pic - swastikas and guns!

Did my Ju88 at the same time...
