Ant
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone could help ... I'm trying to recreate my old land rover, using the Shawn the Sheep land rover kit. Annoyingly, the kit doesn't come with a land rover badge for the front grill. I'd really like to add one, but I have never attempted to create my own decals and don't have access to the kit required to do so anyway. I was wondering if anyone here would be so kind as to knock some logos up for me? Obviously I'm happy to pay for the paper & ink & postage. Failing that, does anyone have any tiny Land Rover logo decals (or stickers) they'd care to donate / sell? I'm looking for the 'classic' logo and they'd need to be approx 10-15mm across. Something like this ... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3335/334293...8d092a2.jpg?v=0 Thanks.
Julien
Not sure, would they have had to pay to use the Land Rover badge?? Julien
stevehnz
Land Rover has a reputation of being very protective of its trade mark. The Shaun vehicle was based on a Land Rover but with sufficient differences that it was not "actually" a Land Rover & so no copyright issues. Years ago I tried to get a LR logo embroidered on a cap but was told it was a no no, as it would get the cap outfit in hot water for unauthorised use of a copyright trademark. I suspect models & decals would be much the same unless you can get someone to do a private job. What model LR was your first one? Italeri do/did a 1/24 Series 3 LWB which lends itself to conversion to SWB & SIIa, Tamiya has done several 1/35s which while military also lend themselves to conversion. Steve. Ant
My Landy was a Defender 90, but I always really wanted a series 2, so the Shaun LR is good enough for me! The Shaun LR appears to be a right mix up of bits, from Series 1 to modern defender. What surprises me about the logo is that the Shaun land rover clearly is a land rover, it's called a land rover on the box, and LR have even had their chaps make a replica of the Shaun vehicle!! Why on earth didn't they include the logo / badge!?!? http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/Land-Rover-Sheep http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...22770298148054#
