dahut
I had that little kit until recently. I gave it away over at Swannys as a contest prize. I hope it comes out as nice as yours and, in fact, I believe I will direct the recipient to come on over and have a look at yours, Antoine. And this teensy little bug is what you call a relaxing "between build?" Edited December 16, 2009 by dahut

That's nice of you, thanks, but I'm not giving lessons here, don't forget that it's a first try for me.

"Misery loves company," after all. It will be a good look in for the guy, I suspect.
Antoine
Masking time, for the fuselage flag, and the fin flash. Tamiya tape, and plastic film (The one you got in your kitchen). White. Then the red. Blue... The fin flash blue is a bit of a lighter shade, so just a drop of white straight in the airbrush.
Antoine
Off the masks, on ce again. Then, time to slowly finish the build. A little problem aft, as with the crutch in place, it was impossible to glue the fin. So, oof the crutch, I'll repair it later.
dahut
Looks nice. Will you rig it?
Martian
Thanks.Looking forward to it myself, but I dn't really know for the moment how to tackle it. Fishing line, or plastic sprue? Fishing line. its much stronger in itself and will add structural strength to the model. Martin

Antoine
Looks nice. Will you rig it? Don't have any options but to do it, as I've already drilled some holes in the wings at the beginning. Fishing line. its much stronger in itself and will add structural strength to the model.Martin Thanks Martin, I'll certainly have a go at it. Got to go to the nearest decathlon soon! Antoine
I've seen too late a pics with a Russian machine, with ski! But too late... I'll certainly build another one in the future, to transform the try.
Antoine
Rigging session! The tools: - Fishing wwire, the thinnest that I've found at decathlon (A well known sport shop in France, maybe you've the same in UK?) - Super thin cyano - Plier (To place the wiring precisely) - Clothes peg (You'll see why) - Tooth pick (To apply cyano precisely) As only have half a brain, I've forgot to drill some hole at the beginning of the build. No choice but to drill them now... Same here. And this kind of kit is extremely fragile... Quite hairy no??? Without eduard giving us a way to tie the wire, I've decided upon a buckle made of stretched sprue. Why not? Taking shape. You see now how the clothes peg works. I must admit that it doesn't work the first time, but I kept at it. Same, seen for just under, to illustrate. Sorry for the bad light, and bad pics, but I work in a rabbit hutch, and it's already late...
Bobs_Buckles
Hi Antoine Looking good. If you have an ebay account grab yourself some of this fishing line. Link Here! It is easy to work with and finer in diameter. Looking forward to seeing the final progress shots. Cheers, BVB
Antoine
It's actually fishing line, Bob. Maybe too thick? Still one wire to put on the mainplane. But it's time for a pause. Going to have a smoke. Ah, no, sh.., I don't smoke....

Maxidad
Bonsoir Antoine Just caught this thread. Great looking build so far - nice step-by-step explanations too!
NickT
This looks really good. The wood effect on the propeller is particularly realistic. Nick
Antoine
Thanks. I think I'll not push my luck too far, and once the rigging is finished, I'll do only minor repairs, then varnish. And if this step by step in bad english is usefull to at least only one person, then I'll be happy, target hit!!!
Antoine
Rigging finished. I didn't prepared the kit enough before building and painting, and so I completely forgot to drill the holes needed for the tailplane rigging. As the tailplane is very, very fragile (Nearly broke it two times today), and I don't want to push my luck too far, I'll stop here. After all it's only my first try at ww1 rigging. Next stage are the last decals, very little weathering, and varnishing. Maybe next weekend???
