silverburn
Damn and blast -- The only Klear I managed to find and purchase was the new one -- so where does one get the old type from?Does anyone sell it on line? Hope the baby arrives swiftly and without any trouble silverburn. Ajed1 Who Dares Wins Yep, I was gutted too...it was working so well too. I suspect I might not have left enough time for it to dry though...only 2 hours. That might have been the issue? I should also have finished all the painting first before Klear, it has to be said... AnonymousFO98
It could be that it needed longer to cure thoroughly- as opposed to being touch dry Didn't someone do some tests with the new stuff recently and declared it safe?

Phartycr0c
Stunning work sir and as for the Lightning!!!! congrats on the impending arrival... Thats your Modelling Knackered for the forseeable! That Lightning is outstanding the finish is wonderful. I have to agree though that the Klear issue was probably down to drying time. The stuff cures despite being only touch dry, and to some extent remains soft underneath until fully cured. As for sealing decals a single coat of Klear produces an acceptable satin finish I have used this loads of times without problems. Top metal finish though, I have a bit of metalwork to do on my Flanker..... Might have to try the old rub and buff job. ~Dan~
I'd forgotten about Rub'n'Buff. I used to use it for figure modelling years ago. I still have some, although the tubes are at least 10 years old! I'm really impressed with this finish. It looks great in the photos.
