JohnT
Hi guys I am trying to set up a project so I can build a 1/48 scale model of each type used by 111. I was chuffed to get all I need to start all the front line types with the exception of the Vickers FB19 - yes I had never heard of it either - as no such model exists. Anyway, I am reading through the book on the squadron history when I discover that they used several types for hacks, training, communications etc So I have sourced a Magister, and a 2 seat Vampire trainer but looking for a two seat meteor and hunter conversion. Meantime does anyone have any idea where I might get some pics of these types in service with 111? I can get the operational types a plenty but not the hacks? Thanks for any help regards John
Dave Fleming
I've got a small history of 111 Squadron (Published for their 75th Anniversary), I'll have a look, but I don't recall it having pics of the secondary aircraft.

Hi Dave I think thats the book I was working from. "Adstantes" is the title - small yellow cover paperbcak? There is no pics inside that but useful type ref in the appendix with serial numbers etc. Thats how I found out about the 2 seaters - just when I thought I was almost home and dry ! You keep learning in this hobby thats for sure !! John
Dave Fleming
No, this one is a black cover A4 softback sold at the airshow (along with a similar one for 43 Squadron). Air Britain's Squadrons of the RAF is usually the best source for non-standard aircraft
avro683
Classic Airframes made a very good kit of the Meteor T7, NF11 and 13 variants. Not sure how readily available they are, it might be worth it putting the feelers out here? Just a thought. Tony
