A380 Lighting using Fibreoptics and LED's

A couple of people asked me to post some pics of my Revell 1:144 A380, to which I added lights.

I used various diameters of Fibroptic cable, routed through the wings. The ends were 'blobbed' with a flame to give the appearance of tiny bulbs. The light covers (where appropriate) were made from Sellotape 'diamond' tape, wrapped over the wing leading edges.

The fibroptic cable was fitted into drilled sockets in various LED's and secured with cyano (some LED's had more than one cable drilling to save space).

Some LED's were flashing versions (for the top and bottom anti-collision beacons).

The whole lot is powered by a 9v battery. I secures a small slider switch into this panel too.

I made the lower wing box panel removable by drilling and using tiny countersunk screws to secure. The panel gaps were taped over with white electrical tape to stop light shining through.
