Just out of curiosity didn't the idea of “wing warping”. The Wright brothers early version of control surfaces come from watching birds wings and the control feathers at the wing tips ? If I’m incorrect I’m incorrect but I always believed thats where that came from ? Edited June 9, 2018 by Corsairfoxfouruncle
dalea
Well, yes. But not many of them are equal span, unstaggered biplanes.

TheLurker
If it hasn't already been mentioned I think the Flying Flea (Mignet HM 14) must be in with a shout. Eight documented fatal crashes in a year and a design flaw that meant it was easy to put it into an unrecoverable dive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mignet_HM.14,
noelh
This month's Aeroplane threw up two candidates. The 'Planet Satellite' which only flew twice and had a mishap on both of them and the 'Chrislea Super Ace'. Which was described as 'Horrible horrible'.
