The Mechanic
Hi All Here's a long term project of mine, my Panther II model. It's the Dragon kit with the Eduard etched set added to it. I am also adding the Dragon US Tank Crew set to it as well. So far, most of the hull is built with the etched grills and lovers fitted, other parts replaced or removed, etc. There's a scratch-built drivers seat ready for the figure to be fitted after painting is finished on him. Then the hull's top and bottom can be glued together and the painting can continue. I would like to get this finished for Telford, but we'll have to wait and see! The Mechanic
Here we are again, another update on this project. It's been nice having the Christmas week off work, I have been able to catch up on some modelling. The Panther II is nearly finished!!! The light is at the end of the tunnel after nearly a year since this model was started. All of the main construction has been done with the main weathering finished. Most of the detailing has been done too, with just a few little bits and pieces left to do, i.e. a couple more bags, boxes and some rope. When these are done, a final bit of weathering to finish her off. The stand has progressed too, with some painting, ballast and weathering done. But a bit more painting is required on the surface with some junk left on the ground for detail. After that's done, a little more weathering to finish off. You can see another figure leaning against the side panel. Well he is going to be removeable from the stand, in case I decide to enter this into any comps. I am also doing a naughty dog to go in the stand too. He's still being painted at the minute. So I think this will be finished over the weekend or just after.
