phat trev
Does anyone make a 1:72 Grumman F8F Bearcat?
daz greenwood
Yes Monogram did one. And more recently I know Sword models did one. Cheers Daz
The wooksta V2.0
Frog also did one and bagged Novo ones still turn up. Not as nice or crisp as the Monogram one, which despite being a 60s kit, still builds into a cracking little model.
kitnut617
Sword does two versions of the Bearcat, short tail and tall tail. Can't remember what the other differences are though.
John Thompson
Art Model does a 1/72 Bearcat: http://www.modelimex.com/detail/aircraft/1...-2-bearcat-usaf It's new, not a reissue of the Frog/Novo or Sword kits. John

Yes, and Cobra Company makes a fantastic resin update set, for it, too! Annnnd, Starfighter Decals just recently released a nice little decal set for the Bearcat. http://www.cobracompany.com/72006.htm http://www.starfighter-decals.com/72115-f8...ats7211581.html Byron Edited September 17, 2009 by Byron Boyd
Steve N
I have to agree with the assessment of the Cobra resin set..it really is a must-have for the Monogram kit. While the kit is very nice, it has no wheel well detail..common for the time it was originally released (1960s.) The Bearcat has such big, gaping wheel wells, it's hard to get away with just faking something up with plastic card and other bits. I have the kit and the Cobra set..while I haven't actually built it, test-fitting shows the resin parts fit almost perfectly, wtih minimal trimming. I also picked up the new Starfighter decals sheet at the recent IPMS USA Nationals, and they look great as well. SN
