philbean
What's the best Humbrol or Revell match for the US Army green for an Apache? The kit (Italeri) seems to point to Humbrol 155 - Olive Drab but that looks a bit too brown for me. 159 - Khaki green looks more accurate. Any recommendations? Don McIntyre
I can't give a Humbrol or Revell but IIRC the color is a VERY dark OD with an FS number of 34031, which should be available from Xtracolour.
Stebos
I came across this issue with a recent Chinook... it's not OD as you say, I believe the correct colour is US Army Heli Green. As far as I know the only accurate out of pot shade is Model Master Acrylic of the same name. Not having any of that I made do with a strange combo of olive green & black with a misted grey/black overlay. Very hard colour to mix as it can look very black or quite green depending on the light and angle. I'm happy with what I ended up with, but definitely don't use OD as it's very obviously too brown.
