TheModeller
Hi, a pal of mine uses Citadel paints pretty exclusively for his Warhammer figures, I'm hugely imprressed and want to give them a go on a Dartmoor 1/48th metal figure to go with a kit I'm building, the Citadel website has a number of drab greens/browns/brown-greens listed but I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation of suitable paint matches for British service dress in WWII? Cheers.
DeltaJ
Hi, GW Graveyard Earth gives decent resemblance to Standard Battledress, & Kommando Khaki makes for good webbing. I used Citadel paints only (Just as an experiment), to paint my Valiant British Tommies & they looked really good, as well as having a good resemblance, despite GW having a very small colour range. This are the colours I used for my Tommies: Battledress- Graveyard Earth Webbing- Kommando Khaki Helmet- Catachan Green Rifle Stock- Bestial Brown Rifle Metal / Bayonet- Boltgun Metal (Mixed with black) Flesh- Elf Flesh Water Bottle / Officer's Boots- Scorched Brown Boots- Chaos Black Scrim / Leaves- Cammo Green The only problem was Citadel paints being water based, & they can tend to be quite thin. Sometimes 2 coats may be required. Hope this helps
