Ello,

Sorry for no updates over the weekend, was feeling a bit burnt out and in need of some R+R after a busy few weeks at work, my modelling usually suffers when I'm tired and I got fed up having to correct all my stupid mistakes, so I just avoid it now!

Anyways here's a short update, I spent a bit longer than planned last night tidying up the cockpit and finishing the painting of the pilot (accuracy NOT guaranteed!) and then 20mins polishing out the self-inflicted scratches on the fwd windshield section before fitting the canopy with Micro Kristal Klear.

Was quite chuffed with the way it looked so far, it does suit the grey of the Halfords Primer!!

Because the clear parts are so thick I thought I'd remove the large fwd camera port from the sprue and test fit it to see how it sits in the recess on the belly thinking "if theres' clean up or blending to do lets do it now".

Well I was gob smacked to say the least when the part was offered up it dropped in beautifully, so beautifully infact I struggled to get it back out!!! The fit was perfect and beautifully flush with the surrounding area! Awesome.

Tonight forced myself to face my modelling fear - learning to use my airbrush! I just got straight to it, and didn't sit pondering how or what way to do this. I mixed up some Xtracrylix Lt aircraft grey (a little to much thinner though) and sprayed a lovely 1st coat on the lower surfaces without any masking to worry about at the moment. This is the 1st time I've tried spraying Xtracrylix and it goes on beautifully, like I say my mix was a little too thin and it did pool in a couple of places but nothing that a gentle rub prior to a 2nd coat won't sort out. One quick pic -

Will hopefully get a wee bit more done tomorrow night,

Ta for looking,

Eng
