A pair of Frightnings!!

Recommended Posts

well there's a surprise. Only yesterday I pulled out some old SAM's dating from 1999 2 of which were your write up's on the Lightning (part 1 & 2). I was a bit gutted to read that your T5 conversion fit very nicely - I'm working on one right now, and it's a bitch to say the least.

Nice work as always anyway Bill

Love the Lightning. I've got one in the stash and want to do a BMF bird. But I need to get some skills up so I can do it justice. B)

Same here... guess I'm just chicken :smartass:

Calum/Mike, Both of those were painted in Halford's Aluminium! I too was a "chicken" with regards to BMF finishes until I came across Halfords!! It dries in nano-seconds and can be masked - I simply sprayed a mist of SnJ (I think) or maybe even Metalcoat on certain panels...

For my next "Silver machine" I'm going to attempt using Halfords and Alclad........That Alclad is the bees dangly bits (or should that be the dogs knees!!!)

Hi Bill - That's finally confirmed it - yet more Lightnings and I know I've gone to heaven!!!! Really nice jobs Bill. Your 2-seat is especially impressive - you don't see too many of these made up. Nice one. When I get my photography setup sorted in the next couple of weeks, I'll get some of my images up for you guys. Best wishes, Geoff :clap2:

I remember those articles!

In fact, your 2-seater inspired me/gave me the courage to have a bash @ the Aeroclub conversion myself. You were right - the ideal first conversion for a modeller (vacform canopies excepted :crying: )
