Here's my Canberra kit!

Here's the box!

And as usual Matchbox has these beautiful colored sprues! :)

and of course the clear parts with the lovely stand, that I plan to use!

The decals!

The protective paper seem to be somewhat stuck, but I hope that it'll turn out Ok!

The instructions calls out for interior green in the cockpit, but on most pics I've seen it looks black!

Cheers,

Håkan

Thanks Mish! :)

I think I'll use the stand so I guess that leaves weights out of it!

Not much, but I've painted the interior black!

And then I've added a little paint to the instruments!

I think that'll be enough! I will build this kit ootb more or less!

That might have been interesting, but I don't know if I can get hold of another three kits right away!

A few hours of work and the pilots got some paint!

I noticed that I need to do some touch up! Then I can put the pilots where they belong and close the fuselage!

Really don't know why I painted both pilots, as only one will be seen!

Thanks Mish! :)

Maybe an optivisor will do the trick! :)

Cheers,

Håkan, who's writing with one hand and holding the newly glued fuselage with the other! :)

Thing are going pretty fast now! :)

Here's the last pic of the interior with the pilots!

After the pit was assembled and in place, closing the fuselage and assembling the wings went pretty fast!

Doesn't it look nice in all its colors? :)

Now all I need to do is some filling and sanding before I start painting!

It's not a bad kit, as I'm finding myself Hakan, it doesn't have the more usual 'trenches' that Matchbox kits usually have, in fact it has more raised lines than engraved.

Thanks Kitnut! :)

Yes, the kit is quite alright, and went together pretty well, leaving only minor gaps to fill!

I agree, the panel lines looks pretty good and has no trenches like the Saab 29 Tunnan for example!

I hope to minimize the damage to the panel lines as much as possible!

Small update!

I tried using ethyl acatate to remove the excess filler, and I think it turned out great!

Only problem was the pilot, who tried to defect a couple of times! :) I had to try and glue him properly and let dry over night!

I'll do the rest of the filling today and hopefully I'll get some primer on too! :)

Håkan

All you need is another 3 mate and you could do the "Green Marrows" aerobatics team.

He'll need B2 / TT18's for that then :wicked:

Nice work Hakan, Ive built a couple of these, and for their age, theyre still a pretty good kit :thumbsup2:

Thanks Mish, Pete and Bex! :)

Yes, I think it's pretty good too! Goes together well with no fuzz and looks like a Canberra! I'm happy with that!

Just relaxing and having no AMS worries! ;)

Hakan,

Youre welcome my friend, nice easy simple kits that look almost right in my view are just as good as a tonne of resin. Ok its not a perfect kit, but at the end of the day, we all know you will make a great job of it and more importantly, it will look like a Canberra :thumbsup2:

Thanks Bex! :)

This is going a bit slower than anticipated, but I have a few other things to do before the Model show I'm going to attend next weekend! I'll bring some kits to display too and I need to make sure they look their best! :) I don't expect to get any prices, but participating is fun nevertheless! :) Lots of vendors too, so I'll most certainly will bring home a few kits and supplies! ;)

Cheers,

Håkan

Well, I've made some small progress!

The position lights on the wing tips had to go on prior to painting, but they didn't look nice with sink marks on both sides!

Took a pic, but it doesn't really show how bad it looks!

canberra_pr9_position_light_1_640x480.jpg

Put a drop of CA glue in the sink mark, let dry and sanded down!

canberra_pr9_position_light_2_640x480.jpg

Had to repeat the process a few times!

Meanwhile, I masked and glued the canopy!

I also shot some black over the frame! So now the plane is ready to paint!

How the lights turned out? You'll just have to wait and see! :)

Cheers,

Håkan
