1/48th Hawk T Mk.1a

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

A few photographs of the latest model off my workbench, the Italeri Hawk T Mk.1

A little scratch building in and around the cockpit plus a pair of modified True Details Mirage 2000 ejection seats, Markings from the Xtradecal sheet.

Painted with Xtracolor enamels, panel lines highlighted with Promodellers wash and weathered with pastels.

Know onto the new Hasegawa TA-4 Skyhawk!

Nice build and finish :photo:

These grey scheme Hawks look so old these days,or maybe I'm just getting older?

Nice to see Italeri done a nice job on the canopy MDC.

Good Work.

Personally I didn’t find the build to bad, fit is generally OK, although not “Tamiya” standard. With a little care it goes together quite well, only area that really needs special attention is the wing to fuselage joint which is interesting! I re-scribed most of the panel lines, as they are somewhat soft, I also re-drilled the rivets as these were somewhat inconsistent. I doubt I would build another thou as the nose shape is quite a bit off and I don’t think its worth double the price of the Airfix kit.

That is very nice Greg like it

Errr Unusual Flat spot on the nose wheel? :undecided:

I noticed the flat spot problem when I was resizing the images for photobucket. I hoped no one would notice!!!!

Thanks again

Cheers

That is beautiful, this and the gloss black have to be the 2 best schemes the Hawk has worn. Love the subtle weathering.

Nice one.
