Hello everyone, my name is Chris and I am a long term lurker, first time poster! Having decided it is time to start contributing, I have added some pictures of my latest completion, the Hasegawa Spitfire IXe. I used the Aeroclub fuselage and cannon bulges I think from the Special Hobby kit. Decals are from Tally Ho and the spares box to represent warbird spitfire TE566 (hence no gunsight) which tragically crashed a few years ago in South Africa. This is as she appeared immediately after her restoration back in 1992 as I have always been a fan of this colour scheme. I hope you like her and comments both positive and negative are welcome :)

Hi Chris,

Congratulations on joining Britmodeller!

I think you've done an excellent job on that and the Aeroclub fuselage comes out nicely – which is good news as I've got one to do!

My only nit-pick is the highlighting of panel lines – it's a general dislike, not personal to this!

Hi Chris, and :post1: Glad to have you aboard finally ;)

Nice clean Spit... although I'd say it needs a bit of muck on the underside - they used to leak oil & fluids like they were going out of fashion :)

Thanks for the warm welcome. It is the 1/48 scale kit, and I agree about the panel lines, I think they are a little on the heavy side especially on the replacement fuselage. I forgot to mention that this is part of my grand project to build one of each mark of Spit, so far I have a I, V, VIII, IX and Seafires II and XVII. I am trying to make the colour schemes and nationalities as diverse as possible.

Nice build indeed, looks spot on to me, I think your right to keep the airframe clean ,since this is a restored aircraft [ 1992 wasn't it] they would be allowed to get grubby like a wartime spit.

:post1: I think it's bloody freakin' marvelous....I'd like to do one like it, but with my skills it's more likely to come out looking like a Stormovik or something close.

Great model, I think the weathering is perfect - looks nice and subtle to me!
