Muzz
Despite recent news that Eduard had ditched plans to release Airfix's Lightning range, this months SAMI reports that the F Mk1 / 2 will be out in September. Good news if it's correct!
Pielstick
I'll take half a dozen please! Now if Mr Eduard could see to it that we get a "Dual Combo" Lightning release I will just be sending him my debit card number Any word on the F3/F6 release? Now all we need is: Eduard to re-release the Airfix 1/48 Jaguar Hobbyboss to get on with releasing the 1/48 Tornado The mythical Airfix 1/48 Vulcan to become a reality SOMEBODY to do a decent 1/48 Sea Harrier and Javelin Edited July 31, 2009 by Pielstick

No mention of the F Mk2A /F Mk6 but you would have to imagine that it'll be along a few months later, I'll be getting at least one of each to add to the stash. There also releasing a range of resin bang seats with the F Mk 1 seat being one of the first released, this makes sense as the seat and other resin / PE will be in with the kit. Pielstick
Is there any indication what price they will be? I recently added a couple of Airfix Lightnings to the stash as an insurance against the rumours of the Eduard release being cancelled - in fact I was just eyeing up a couple more on Ebay this morning. Looking at the Hannants site the Eduard Mirage 2000 (ex-Heller) and Spitfire 22 (Ex- Airfix) are listed as £35.30, which given the additional resin and decals seems remarkable value! The Grand Phoenix boxing of the F6 was a lot more - IIRC - nearer the £49.99 mark? I have heard (actually on here) that the Lightnings will be issued in very limited numbers - something like a batch of 1000 or so. IIRC the Mirage 2000 was sold out initially - within nano-seconds- though there was a second batch.
Muzz
Could be quite expensive by the sounds of things, apparently releasing it under their "Royal Class" range.
atdb27
Kin Hell, They know how to hurt us modellers don't they! Doubt there would be a combi kit as The F1/F2/F3 version had the small venteral tank integral with the fuse halves. The F2/6had the centre and rear sections of the larger ventral tank integral with fuse halves with the option of with/without cannon on the fwd tank section. also the early release had a diff wing profile ie straight not kinked as on later mks. Fin was offered as round/square in both original issues so not a big problem. O/W tanks never used on early mks so a waste on early mks. Red Top late mks/ Firestreak early mks. So over all the kits have to be released as 2 diff versions. But seeing how Dragon give so many 'options' in most of their kits that end up in the spares box who knows? It would be sad if Airfix 'gave away' the moulds for Eduard to exploit issues of this fine model? Lets hope Airfix don't do the same with the Bucc and Viggen?
