eng
I've got the Fujimi kit of the FGR.2 in the Alcock and Brown scheme, my question is can I build a RN FAA FG.1 from this kit? There is the long nose leg in the kit and the cut-outs in the lower wing for the bridle attachment points (would need to scratch build), the fin has the rounded tip not the rectangular ECM of the late FG.1's, but I think, and I'm no Phantom expert, the only prob might be the stab's. Does the RN FAA FG.1 have slotted stab leading edges? If so is there any aftermarket slotted stab's available? Any help appreciated, Eng
PHREAK
Nose wheel door has three lights, should be easy to sort this out. Rear pit (starboard side) is different although you won't see much with the canopies down. My solution? ........ build it as an FGR2 and buy an FG1! You're not the first to want to convert the Spey marks from one to the other ....both ways!
eng
Thank's for the info Phreak, I do have plenty extra dec's for FGR.2's, but I've been reading Roland White's "Phoenix Squadron" and thought a 892 Sqn Phantom would look nice alongside an 809 Sqn Bucc. Given I've already got the kit, if it's an easy change it'll save me 20 quid to spend on Airfix Bucc's when they hit the shelves!! You never mention slatted stab's in your reply, am I right that the FG.1's of 892 Sqn are slatted? Thank's for your help. Eng
