AnonymousDFB1
* Kit manufacture: Academy * Scale: 1:72 * Type: P-39N * Extras used: Prebuilt hut in diorama * Paints and colours used: Tamiya acrylics and Promodeller light wash. * Other info: Full build is HERE Not really happy with the base, it hasn't worked like I hoped it would. The base has warped and every time I move it a new crack appears and I spot another spot where the paint and washed has flaked. Never mind it was a trial and I know what to do next time. The little hut is actually a Hornby OO/HO level crossing hut that I have (hopefully) made to look a bit rural. I don't normally build 1:72 but this one has been enjoyable. The kit is a lovely little thing, especially as it didn't cost me a lot part of a job lot bargain! It went together well with no real issues the tiniest amount of filler needed. The winter camo is Promodeller light wash applied all over then rubbed off and reapplied where needed. Thanks for your comments
Julien
Nice job Mish. The Russians loved their P-39's even going as far as asking the US to ship them more at the expense of other armaments. They really knew how to use it to its best advantage. Julien

mitchem
Funny, all the bases I've made out of framed family photos have also cracked and warped. Do you think it could be something in the water ? Like the paintwork on the Airacobra though
Pat C
That looks really great Mish - the little hut is a work of art in itself! Pat
mikeew
Nice final product Mish. The "little hut" is a great use of modelling kno-how. Shame the base is cracking etc. I was going to ask about the winter camo, neat idea on Promodeller wash, i'll have to remember that one
