1/48 B-17G 'Princess Pat'

Recommended Posts

Those are both splendid builds, Neil.

Over here, 48th scale Monogram B-17s and B-24s are a dime a dozen on the contest circuit, but ones that are well-built are truly rare. Good on you for leading by example.

Wow Neil. That is a gorgeous looking Fortress. :clap2:

Any info on what happened to the real "Princess Pat"?

There is mention of it in Roger Freeman's The Mighty Eighth in Colour, p.122, Crash-landed at Ridgewell, 27 March 1945 after catching fire whilst on a training flight. Crew escaped unharmed.

Excellent B-17!

Though I stick to 1/72 (for budget and lack of space), this fantastic build reminds me of how much Monogram's 1/48 bomber range was the buzz of the model world in the late 70's.

Your B-17 model is one of the best I've seen. B)

Thanks for all the new comments, very much appreciated.  :)

Was chatting to a friend of mine (Mike H) about this model a couple of days ago, neither of us can quite believe it is over 9 years ago when I posted these pics in this thread. (Must be around 20 years ago when I actually built the B-17 model).  Shocking really when you think about it!!
