desmojen
Is everyone called Neil a really good modeller? Very nice work so far, like the chipping effect on the floor, but I am wondering how the pilots managed to get their feet so close to the seat to chip that bit! Jen. Mike
it does look nice though... perhaps the chipping happened when they had the seat out for maintenance? How did you do the chipping btw Neil? Looks very good

Jen. Please. Everyone knows that happens when the pilot has to stand up and turn around to yell at the kids in the back seat. Lovely work on that cockpit! It will almost be a shame to enclose that... This kit is on my wish list so I'll be following along closely on this build. Great job!

Bobs_Buckles
I don't seem to be able to see the pictures. And that is with my firewall off... any clues? Cheers Bob
Andy K
Unless the pictures are made public, then when he's logged out of photobucket it's stopped access to them. I tried to see them by right-clicking on the red square, highlighting the url of the picture then copy and pasting into a new browser tab. However that did'nt work so I presume they are not public. Andy K
Nice work. What paint did you use for the interior? I was hoping to start a 1/48 Tamiya P-47 Razorback straight-out-the-box but then the AMS set in once I started looking for the basic info. I believe it's summat like Dark Dull Green/ FS summat or other.
neilfgr2
Hi Andy, Speaking to my friend Vince and he knows the lot about P-47's. Really depends on where the one you are doing was built. Cant remember which way round it is but its interior green (what i used) for Republic built machines and Bronze Green for Curtis P-47's. I use Xtracolour paints. They do the interior green and for the Bronze Green we matched it up to Euro One Green. This was the lighter green used on the A-10 Thunderbolts in the Lizard scheme. Andy K
Cheers for that. I'd read on Hyperscale that the 'Euro 1' Dark green was a good match. Besides which once I've painted it, shaded it, dry brushed it etc etc it'll probably be no where near the official colour anyway!

Im building the kit as a project. not really getting into great debates about what is the correct colour of the cockpit. I trust the views of my mate vince as he knows alot about the subject. mungo1974
Looks great so far! Dont forget to cut/drop the engine mount~or the engine and cowl will sit too high on fuse if left unmodified. Cheers, Gary
