Must have missed you Darius! I think I was a bit further back!!

It was my Canon 1000D's airshow debut - so had some fun playing around and learning a few things. Managed to take in excess of 300 shots tody - spent most of the evening whittling them down!

Here's a selection......

Part 1

An immaculate Wessex HU5 to kick off - in a fetching shade of Devon(?) Red

F86 Sabre

Apache - trying to achieve prop(sorry..) Rotor Blur

Part Deux

XX227 of the Red's in the new (did thy use this last year?) scheme

IMG_1310.jpg

XX260 was no doubt the Reserve - something I don't think I've ever seen before - one smoke pod short of a full set if you ask me!

Another of the Vipers Strikemasters

Great shots there Bill!

To answer your question, the Reds have had that scheme for a couple of years now. There was much debate as to which scheme was prefered amongst the enthusiasts. I personally liked the previous scheme although it was argued that the current scheme harkens back more to the scheme that the Gnats wore so it made the purists happy.

As for the XX260 sans smoke pod, that is interesting indeed! Wonder if there wasn't something wrong with the pod and they decided to pull it since the aircraft was good...

Thanks for sharing

Cheers!

John

Thanks all!! Had some good results from the camera with the "fast jets"....some not so great with the ones with twirly bits on the front - but its all a learning curve ain't it?

I was a bit further back than you Darius, but I can see the advantage of getting in nice and close!!!
