Obi-Jiff Kenobi
Oh yes! I've read about this in a few places, being a student of 1 Sqn's history. Somewhere I have details of the Hunter's serial number - if only someone made a 1/144 Tower Bridge...

Angels49
I know this is old news, but the man showed extraordinary Airmanship, skills beyond imagination, and the SL's Wing CO's and others on up the ladder wanted to use him as a sacrificial lamb. You can't do that ol' boy it wasn't ordered, don't you know. To show the MP's we're still in control we're going to throw you to the dogs' and all will be forgotten we 'ope. They should 'ave promoted 'im to SL and then Wing, finally Air Marshall. However if you don't play it straight and narrow....you're in for it no matter 'ow good you are. Then when the smelly jelly is in the ventilation it's "We need more like 'im" .
JosephLalor
I recall reading a post on Pprune by a John Farley (wouldn't be surprised if it was >that< one) to the effect that he was at his desk at Dunsfold one day, talking to a Wing Commander in London over the telephone. The other man suddenly started speaking more slowly then said "There's a Hunter flying under the bridges!" Apparently there was a hiatus in the conversation before the two men said as one, "Pollock!" I probably mangled that altogether. Joseph Edited June 3, 2009 by JosephLalor
