FredCC
Hi all, I'm currently building Xtrakit Sea Vixen for MAI. Well, I'd say it's not an easy build... I found some nice details pictures on Prime Portal but couldn't find a single cockpit picture. Does anyone know if there are some available on internet? Thanks in advance, Fred

Graham T
I had always thought that there was direct communication with the navigators compartment but looking at those pics it appears they are isolated from one another??
Edgar
Although probably not able to talk, directly, there was a hole, in the starboard cockpit wall, just above the armrest of the pilot's seat; I suppose they could have held hands, in an emergency. If what you have isn't enough, I have several photos of the pilot's cockpit, and the observer's "coal-hole." FredCC
Hello Edgar, I'd be more than interested in getting your cockpit and coal-hole pictures. Would you be so kind as to post them here or email them to me? Thanks, Fred

Thanks in advance, Fred Hi Fred, just saw this and thought that some pics of mine would help. I took these pics for the very same reason! Happy modelling! I still havn't got round to starting mine yet which will include the airwaves sets and the resin nose radar set. Can't wait to see the article! Lord Mureth
There's plenty more good ones on ThunderandLightnings; apparently, the observer was able to give the pilot a jab with a pen if necessary!

seavixenxj494
i reconise that sea vixen cockpit anywhere , thats 494 just want to add a quick point some of the instrumentation is not as you would expect in a FAW2 i.e the radar altimiter at the top of the center consul where you would find the strike sight saw removed to fit martel missile trials equpiment compare with thunder and lightninings to get a better example
Edgar
Hello Edgar,I'd be more than interested in getting your cockpit and coal-hole pictures. Would you be so kind as to post them here or email them to me? Thanks, Fred Fred, if you still want to borrow my spare set (7" x 5" & 6" x 4") you're welcome; there are around 100, in all, of more than one airframe, and include wheel wells, and odd areas. The "coal hole" photos will need a bit of head-scratching, since I was almost upside-down, in a just-about-adequately-lit Halton workshop, in pre-digital days, so it was "point and hope." To try to keep distortion to a minimum, I always used a 35mm lens, and there was barely enough room to get at it. If you'd like to let me have an address, I'll get them to you.
