Airfix 1/35 Abrams tank

Hi chaps

Not being a armour builder at all, this one caught my eye, but being airfix wondered what the quality was like?

It's the Trumpter kit reboxed, Airfix also have their Challenger II and Italeri's DUKW. There's a comparison review at this website

The Airfix Abrams is in fact the Italeri version but its still pretty good.

It's actually the Italeri 1/35 M1A2 re-boxed, not the Trumpeter kit. The Italeri original is cheaper, and comes with better decals, so there's no good reason to buy the Airfix re-pop - unless you buy it from Hannants, who have it on special offer at £9.99.

The Italeri M1A2 is a nice kit, and in many ways (anti-slip surfaces, link&length tracks, accurate rear hull engine air intakes, decals) better than the Tamiya kit which, depending where you buy it, costs at least half as much again.

Ihad the Italeri version but never built it ..But it did look good

Italeri Abrams (with, it must be admitted, a fair amount of aftermarket stowage and MGs from the Academy 1/35 US machine Gun set):

Airfix released the Trumpeter Challenger 2 at much the same time that's where the confusion probably arose.
