Hey guys I received my Wingnut Wings Bristol F.2b Fighter from the courier today (Thurs) was sent yesterday (Wed)!! Hows that for service, well better than what you usually get for living in NZ so far away from everything.

Seeing the box art I was blown away it just looked classy, all the sprues and decals are individually bagged. The parts look amazing with the amount of detail and no flash what so ever. Even the missus thought it looked great so its a win win.

A few pics of the sprues, the tamiya paint pot gives you some scale perspective. Enjoy :)

That looks like a really nice kit...apparently, my three wingnut kits are 'awaiting clearance' somewhere in the UK and have been 'awaiting' for six days.

HM Customs probably consider them a security risk...either that, or they're building them.

Enjoy!

Steve,

Looks like a stunner to my eyes. I will be getting one as soon as Mr Greenback is able and willing.

I will have to make do with the LVG for now... Life is such a bind... haha

Cheers for the box review.

Von Buckle ;)

Fantastic detailing, very impressive!

I don't usually do WW1 stuff but, I can feel some temptation with this one!

Perry,

You would do a cracking job... GET ONE!

Ordered my Bristol today, going to have to save my pennies for the Junkers and the LVG. Not to mention the RE8 when it comes out. Could always sell some of my stash to finance it, I suppose. :hmmm:

Don't you mean :bouncy::bleh::bouncy:

Is that supposed to be you in the middle?

I don't remember seeing on the website that they're limited edition, but I didn't look that closely. Might try ordering one next month, if I can persuade my bank manager that it's an investment, no really, honest guv.

So, are they a limited edition or what?

To be honest, I think the only real one that grabs me is the Pup...

Nick,

I'm not 100% sure if they are limited. I would guess they have the facility to make up a second run without too much grief.

I hope you lot realise that Wingnut will also be releasing:

1. F.E.2b

2. D.H.2

3. D.H. 9 or D.H.9a

4. Hansa Brandenburg W.29

5. Roland.D.VIa

I'm off to sell my bodyparts to fun my Wingnut plastic addiction :yahoo:

Are these kits limited run?

I think that depends on your definition. If by that you mean are the made from something other than steel tools that would only allow for a limited number of moldings to be made before the tools are worn out (ala MPM or something), then I'd say the odds are 99% in favor of a "no" response. I think it's pretty clear, given the amount of money that Peter Jackson has, and has clearly put into this venture, that they're most likely regular steel tools that will be able to make many hundreds of thousands of copies before they're worn out (assuming they're treated properly). Theoretically, they could still be squeezing plastic into them in 50 years, assuming we still have oil from which to make polystyrene in 50 years.

If by "limited run" you mean these initial offerings in the initial boxings with the initial sets of decals, then I'd say yes. That would be my take on their use of the term.
