WW2 Luftwaffe seatbelt question

I was just wondering the colour of the pads that go under the buckles on the lapstraps should be. Are they the same colour as the belts?

As far as I know, the straps themselves were a light tan colour, with the pads being a darker brown, possibly leather? I bought a set of Eduard prepainted Luftwaffe harnesses a while ago, and seem to remember that they'd painted them that colour too...

I stand to be corrected if necessary.
