cmatthewbacon
I want to try my hand at some 1/35th armour (all will be revealed). I need some advice, though... when do I do the painting? In my references, people seem to build the kit to completion and then start painting. How do you deal with tricky masking problems like wheels, or filling the truck with supplies? My immediate thought would be to build in large subassemblies (chassis, cab, tilt, cargo) and paint them, but that doesn't seem to b how other modellers do it... HEEELLLPPP! I need some "bases" for the excellent SAS and LRDG figures I now have... bestest, M.
tornado64
same as most kits use descretion , some paint as going along some after everythings built .....there realy isn' a hard or fast rule
Guest snipersmudge
It all depends on what you are building really. If you can build and paint in sub assemblies it does sometimes make it easier. As for wheels and tracks if I can I leave these off until everything is painted and weathered to my satisfaction. I recommend checking out the thread on armour build work in progress and get some ideas from there Pete
