Does anyone know anythiong about the newly released 1/72 Reggianne RE.2000 from Italeri? Kit number 1272.

Is it a new tooling and any good?

It is supposed to be new but I see from their difficult to follow 2009 catalogue that they are also releasing the old Supermodel kits. The 1/48th version is 'PRM' with a book but the 1/72nd seems to be a 'standard' kit.

Best hope is that it is all new tooling.

Second best hope is that it is the old Supermodel kit rather than something from MPM. ;-)

I can confirm that it is the old Supermodel kit which has been tarted up a bit....not worth nearly £10 though if you ask me!

Is it just me being tight or are Italeri kits becoming rather expensive nowadays?

This Month's Issue of Scale Aviation Modeller refers to it as 'Revised Issue' as opposed to 'Re-issue'....read into that what you will!! Woukld like one of these in 1/48 as I've only got a cr*ppy SMER version...(wah,wah,wah,wah....)

Tim, the good news is that it's a newly tooled kit, NOT a tarted up reissue of the old Supermodel. Not that the Supermodel kit was terrible, of course, but the photos shown on H.S. are very encouraging. And thank goodness for that!

Hello,

I'm afraid the kit is a big disappoitment. Beside its origin (compared to Supermodel tooling - THERE ARE common features), there are many suspicius ares, like:

- wrong fuselage crossection

- wider canopy

- wrong wing span and chord

- wrong height of fin

- oversimplified cowling and engine

- panel lines almost on all surfaces and rivets are of sci-fi nature

I don't understand the H.S. reviewer outcomes, e.g. it is as good as the Fiat CR.42. That's complete nonsence. Just my 2$...

Cheers
