After seeing my loft........Now here is my Cellar!

Recommended Posts

Hiya Folks,

Whilst copying photos to Photobucket I thought you might like to see some of my cellar........showing where I keep the rest of my built up models!

Everything is 1/72nd scale....see how many aircraft types you can spot!

I`m just having a change around and the same shelves should be bulging with naval types soon!

Cheers

EDIT,.... As well as adding new pics above to replace the Photobucket ones,..... hee are some pics of my cabinet too,.....it has since filled to bursting point!

Cheers again.

Fantastic effort! Great to see a "built" stash for a change.

Three Shackletons, two Beverleys and a an Argosy. :worthy:

Hi Tony

amazing collection

you might be the only BM member with a built collection that is bigger than the stash

Hang on! We havn't seen the size of the stash yet! :hmmm:

Just to clarify matters; do you live in a house or a tardis?

Wow, now where's that pickaxe and spade, a cellar could solve a few of my problems.

Cheers

[Hiya Martin,

Oh don`t you worry, the stash is just as big and will probably take 3 lifetimes to build but I`m trying my best!

The funny thing is we only live in a two up two down terraced cottage so the cellar and loft, as well as a few cabinets and shelves are the only place I can put my completed models......I just wish I had a bigger house though as I`m running out of space!

All the best

Crumbs! What a collection. You know, for some reason I'd always thought the Argosy - which I can recall seeing flying - and the Beverley - which I probably never did - were around the same size, obviously not.

Thanks for showing Tony :)

Hi Tony

Nice colletion - is that a RNZAF Bristol Frightener is see on the lower shelf in the first pic?!

Is damp or any other nasties a problem with keeping them in the cellar?

Cheers fromAotearoa

Hiya Mike,

Yes it is a RNZAF Freighter and yes damp and cold can be a problem, especially in winter. I`ve learnt to apply a coat of acrylic spray varnish to a model if using a watercolour wash, to seal it so that mould does not set in...as one day I found a shelf full of hairy planes!!,,Wereplanes!

We`ve put a dehumidifier and a heater in the cellar now, both on a timer for a few hours per day which helps a bit and gives us under floor heating in the kitchen!!!

All the best
