PaulR
Hi all, I have just pulled my 1/48th Airfix Hawk MK127/LIFT Hawk from the stash, and have remembered why I put it away in the first place- its nose. Close examination of photos of the real thing show (to my eyes at least) an grossly inflated nose that does not reflect the slim lines of the original. I've started to sand it down quite aggressively, but it crossed my mind that there might be a resin replacement. In fact, I'm sure I've heard of one, in Australia I think, but can't remember any more than that! I think there could be a market for this, especially since the new RAF T2 will be coming on stream soon - any resin manufacturers interested? Regards, Paul. scotthldr
Hi Paul, Yes there is a replacement nose for it, in fact it comes complete with cockpit and seats as well as the area aft of the cockpit. They are available from R & R models in Australia. I can't remember the price but they aren't that expensive. rrmodels@ozemail.com.au I used one of the sets on my Hawk and can highly recommend it, the IFR probe was scratch built and isn't part of the set Scott Edited February 22, 2009 by scotthldr

Motty
G'day Paul, A company called R&R Models does a set which includes a new nose as well as a new upper fuselage piece and cockpit. http://www.scalespot.com/reviews/rrhawk127/rrhawk127.htm I'm not sure of availability but the guys over on AussieModeller will be able to help you out if you're interested. Hope this helps. Cheers, Motty. Edit: I see Scott beat me to it. Edited February 22, 2009 by Motty
