Thought I would add a "forked tailed devil" to the D-Day G.B. This particular kit is a vintage Revell 1/72 issue.

The P-38 is one of my favs of all time. I was gutted when it failed to show at Duxford in 07 :raincloud:

Looks to have some interesting interior detail in this one, will you be keeping the panels off?

Some of the internal details showing might be interesting...I'll see how the construction goes...

There's nothing wrong with those older Monogram kits especially when you spruce them up with a bit of PE or resin.

I'll be looking forward to the updates as this one comes together.

I have enough trouble using PE in 1/48 - you deserve a medal !!!! Was planning to finish a Minicraft 1/48 P-38 for this GB so I might put that to the back of the queue - got plenty of other stuff LOL

I'm thinking that there is room for more than one P-38 in this G.B. So, carry on with your P-38, if you have a mind to. It would be interesting to contrast/compare the two scales...

P-38 ahoy! I got the big brother to this one in 1/48 last week, again from the local charity shop.

$2.14 USD all up!

Love those Monogram deelites. Keep at it!

I have a Monogram 1:48 Lightning, but I've not seen this one before. It's a genuine Revell, right? The others I have that have engines in 1:72 include Ju 88, Ju 87 and He 219. I think there was a bit of theme, then, back in the old days :)

If the fit is like the Ju 88 or He 219, then I wish you the best of luck.

Brews: Yes, it's a genuine Revell kit. I think it's a later vintage tan the HE-219 and the Ju-88..both of those had lots of rivets. This P-38J has raised details but no rivets and hopefully a better fit...
