sniperUK
Working on this over the last week,a stunning kit with perfect fit, fuselage almost finished on to the blades next the paintng of them should be "interesting"as they have a white stripe and metal leading edges running along their length, progress so far with a Cararama Landie and a Sea King to show the size. Stebos
Looks super to me! I was planning the same scheme for mine (depending on Begemot's additional decal details), just need to source a 1/72 UN vehicle for it. Was your canopy all bent out of shape like mine? http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.p...154&hl=halo If so how did you fix it?

Canopy was bent but the plastic is flexable enough just to bend it back into shape and attach it,I have never seen transparencies so flexable appears to be a new type of plastic. The scheme is quite a good ne as from what I can find out it is the cab that was deployed to Sierra Leone at the time of Op Palliser alongside the RAF. Stebos
Thanks for the reply, I'd been concerned over keeping it fixed in place after the bend, it seems that wasn't a problem after all.
Greg B
I thhink I have some piccies of them there, will try and dig them out as they were based down the road at Hastings Airport. albymoore
I was hoping it wouldn't be too long before seeing one of these behemoth's in progress. Looks fantastic so far! Between this kit and the Hobbyboss Mils, it is a great time for Russian helicopter modeling enthusiasts. I look forward to the next update! JosephLalor
No doubt in my mind now what my next rotary wing kit purchase will be. For a large helicopter the Mi26 is quite a handsome aircraft. Looks like this build will be a cracker. I didn't know until this thread that there was a 1/72 'Halo' at all. The only kit I was aware of was the 1/144 vacform from the long-defunct Air Craft. Joseph Edited January 14, 2009 by JosephLalor

Joseph There's another option in the form of the South Front 1/72 Halo but I saw it described as rather "industrial", the Zvezda kit is absolutely beautiful, you won't be dissapointed. SniperUK - How did you find the general assembly of the kit (other than the cockpit glazing)? Are there any other wee niggles to watch out for? I've been working on the Zvezda Tu-154 and the fit/build is superb, only prob I've got is both left wing halves are slightly warped, fixable though. Beautiful Halo, looking forward to seeing more pic's. Eng
sniperUK
The fit of the kit is about as perfect as you can get,the only fiddely bit is the tail rotor driveshaft and mounts that run through the cargo bay,you need about five hands to fit it correctly but it is a perfect fit. Nev
Picked mine up last week - looks an incredible kit, just waiting for the Begemot decals. Any pics of the interior?
