Bedford QL with 6 Pounder

Now I saw this at the hobby shop the other day;

I seem to remember in the dim distant past when I was a lad that Airfix did this kit? am I going bonkers as everyone seems to think I am wrong!

No, you're quite right. It was one of a series by Max that Airfix reboxed in the 1970s.

Cheers guys, I dont think I will be taking a trip down memory lane at £29.99 though! I wonder if tyhe italeri one is from the same molds?

That kit must be getting rare now though. Some of the airfix stuff was 1.32 I believe to fit in with the soldiers?

It's rare in Airfix boxes but most of the kits have been available from Italeri over the years. The White Scout Car is currently available from Revell:

I remember that the Airfix kit was reaching premium prices as a rarity, but Italeri's prices are extortionate for such an old kit. I just bought the 1/32 Carro Armato L6 / 40 and it's a rip off. No way are the kits worth the money even if they do have a tiny etch fret and a book of colour photos.

If you click on Antoine's link there is a review, the molds are not holding up that well for the 6 pounder but OK for the Bedford. Still I agree with you is expensive for what it is. But still cheap if you look at the new Academey/Dragon and Tasca prices!

Bloody ell...nearly picked that up last week, thought it was a new tool & I had the original when it first came out,Julien I See what you mean about Tasca's price's at least with Dragon you get a shed load of etch & other goodies.

i built the airfix one and personaly think it is brilliant for the price always liked the kit there is quite a lot to do on it

also built airfixes rommels "greif" that was nice too..

The molds are the original MAX which were issued by Airfix, alongside a few others back in 1976/77
